🎓 Student / Study Visa

• Armenia has excellent universities with affordable tuition — popular among African students for medicine, engineering, and IT.
• Apply for a student visa at the Armenian Embassy or via the institution’s invitation letter.
• Top Universities: Yerevan State Medical University, American University of Armenia, State Engineering University of Armenia (Polytechnic).

💼 Work Visa / Residence Permit

• Armenia has a very open work policy. Many foreign nationals can work without a formal work visa if residing legally.
• Work Permits are required for formal employment with an Armenian company for non-CIS citizens.
• Process: Employer applies for work permit at the Migration Agency → employee enters and registers for Temporary Residence Permit.
• Requirements: Job offer/employment contract, valid passport, photos, proof of accommodation, medical certificate, police clearance.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family / Dependent Visa

• Residents with temporary or permanent residence permits can invite immediate family members.

🏛️ Citizenship

• By Birth: Armenia follows jus sanguinis. Children born to at least one Armenian parent are citizens regardless of birthplace. Children born in Armenia to foreign parents do not automatically receive citizenship.
• By Naturalization: Requires 3 years of continuous legal residence for those married to Armenian citizens; 5 years for others. Must demonstrate knowledge of Armenian language, history, and constitution; be financially independent; renounce previous citizenship (dual citizenship generally not allowed, with exceptions for Armenians of the diaspora).
• Special Diaspora Provision: Ethnic Armenians from the diaspora have an expedited pathway to citizenship.
